I'm pissed.

I just lost big money because of PayPal. Where's the seller protection? The buyer (an old client btw) opened a claim and got all the money back, even I'm telling him the registerd number of the package, emailing photos of the package with dated post office stamps and doing all the same to PayPal... I lost it. I don't see why wasting time registering, taking pictures and organizing everything; when somebody opens and dispute, don't think twice and just give a full refund! That's what you should do, bacause it doesn't make any difference if you don't: they just take the money. But what makes me really pissed is that I'm talking about and old client! This person bought from me several times and knows that I ship the pieces! I don't have reasons to scamm anyone, I do the pinups to sell and shipping it is part of the process... Don't people realize that I'm not reseling art? I draw the pieces! So If you screw me, be sure that you're screwing me harder than you think! Fuck...

o.o I can tell your really mad! :hugs DaiKon:! I know the feeling. I have had a few problems selling on eBay in the past. People can be so unreal sometimes! It does sound like you has a scammer on your hands. All I can say is block them for bidding on your listings.

P.S.
Will you be re-listing the prints on eBay? I looked th eother day and the were gone. They had the 20 days lefted on them.

:hugs:

i can only agree with what you feel and th feelings of the others that have posted thus far. i would hate for one person to be the factor to you not doing your art on ebay anymore. i need to get more money so i can bid on them.

and definatly block him from your auctions so that this wont happen again.

sending my hugs out across the nets for ya. :)

Oh, yeah. It happens. It happens a lot. I lost over $50 AND the items I was shipping because of such a case, and I had everything documented. It isn't that eBay is helping the buyer, it's enabling some people to get their items, then turn around and get their money back. I feel this was the case with my incident. Still it's a real letdown when this sort of thing happens, but I hope it doesn't sour you on selling - I love your style and hope to see you around for a while.

Cheers.

I'm sorry to hear that a scammer was able to prevail in this situation. I've been pretty lucky so far on ebay these past 11 years (knock on wood). If it's any comfort, karma is a bitch and he'll get his deserved comeupance sooner or later. Hopefully this isolated incident doesn't deter you from sharing your awesome gifts with the rest of us.

You definitely should report this incident back to Ebay and get the guy banned. Sellers shouldn't be allowed to be punished by scammers any more than buyers should. Strange that he was an old client though...

Sorry to hear this as well. I bought a Wonder Woman staue some time back and it never arrived. Got excuse after excuse and then he just quit answering mails. I also believe what comes arround goes arround.

Daikon, I think the best thing you can do is resolve the situation as cleanly as possible and focus on your new commissions and print sales. (Of course, I bought a commission and am waiting an email confirmation, so I'm biased here.)

Every now, and then you get screwed on eBay/paypal. This has happened to me a couple times, and I tell you, as a seller, you barely have a leg to stand on with any dispute against a buyer nowadays. Back in eBay's early days they took interest in the dispute, and did what they could to help both the seller, and the buyer, but they were more seller friendly back then. If you look through all of the "HELP" section for these kinds of situations, I'd say that a good 95% of all the help topics are focused on helping the buyer only. I get really pissed at these situations as well. We, as sellers, pay all of the eBay fees whether our auctions sell, or not. And if a buyer uses Paypal to conveniently send payment to the seller, then the seller gets charged a fee. Honestly, that fee should be the buyer's responsibility, not the seller's. Anyway, I am going to stop now, I am starting to rant now.
Daikon, I am sorry that a regular customer decided to go psycho, and screw you like that. I can only hope that you will block him from bidding on any further auctions.

Would it be possible that the package got lost on the way? Or do you have a proof that it reached the receiver?

There might be a way to send something by mail and get a signature of receipt back, in gemany it's called "Einschreiben". Then you can say "He's lying! He signed that he received the package!"
(This stuff is one major reason why I never do any deals that involve money via the internet. Another one is that I plain don't trust paypal - I have heard a some cases where they locked accounts because (they said) they suspected some trickery and in one case the money was needed for a lawsuit...)

For what it's worth, they don't just screw sellers, they screw buyers too.

Friend of mine ordered a memory stick from Hong Kong, cost of $55. The seller sent him an obvious counterfeit, a piece of crap; the performance is terrible compared to the real thing, and the capacity isn't all there.

He demanded a refund. PayPal said he had to mail it back via registered mail! It costs $50 to do that, and it's ILLEGAL to ship counterfeit merchandise.

In other words, PayPal wanted him to spend $50 to get a $55 refund, and to break the law to do it.

End result? Friend lost his $55. PayPal was probably breaking the law, but he wasn't going to fight them about it.
